Nordstrand - Hallig trips
Nordstrand, the green heart of the Wadden Sea, lies in the middle of the unique world of the Halligen, in the Wadden Sea. Surrounded by an evergreen North Sea dike, Nordstrand is connected to the mainland and can therefore be reached at any time.
Carriage ride Hallig Süderfall
The Hallig Südfall is a nature reserve of special status and borders directly on protection zone I. It may only be entered with authorised mudflat guides or by horse-drawn carriage.
Westerhever Lighthouse
The red and white ringed lighthouse is a special landmark. The Westerhever lighthouse has been in operation for over 100 years. Until about 30 years ago, there was even a lighthouse keeper.
St. Peter Ording (beach)
The Ording bathing beach is the largest and most popular beach in St. Peter-Ording. During the high season (15.03. - 31.10.) you can easily drive to the beach car park. You can easily get from the dyke to the beach via a cycle path and footbridge.
Eider barrage
The Eider barrage is located at the mouth of the Eider into the North Sea near Tönning.
The main purpose of this largest German coastal protection structure is to protect against storm surges in the North Sea.
Insider Tip Café Andresen
Just don't come at the weekend. The the booth ist full. With day-trippers from Hamburg and tourists on holiday at the North Sea.
Then there is not much left of the calm atmosphere in Andresen's tavern. And that would be a pity. Because if you stop here on another day, you will experience a place like something out of a picture book: In the Katinger Watt, just behind the dyke, lies the thatched house made of red bricks.
Tönning (harbour)
On the Eiderstedt peninsula lies the town of Tönning with its historic harbour. A special event: every year in December, the historic Tönning Packhouse becomes the world's largest Advent calendar!
Husum (Theodor Storm)
Husum offers a city experience and a North Sea holiday in one. Salty North Sea air, the cry of seagulls, ships, harbour and crabs are all to be found here, even in the middle of the town centre.
Storchenparadies Bergenhusen
Bergenhusen is a municipality in the district of Schleswig-Flensburg in Schleswig-Holstein. The municipality is known nationwide as a stork village, as one of the largest white stork colonies in Europe is located here.
